07 Feb Hank McLarty
Hank is the Founder and CEO of Gratus Capital. His primary focus is to provide objective investment advice that assists high capacity clients in the management of their investment interests. Hank relies on his extensive experience with the markets and issues common to high net worth families, as well as his team-oriented approach, to deliver an exceptional client experience. With a strong appetite for learning and leadership, he strives every day to be an exceptional leader and coach to his entire Gratus Capital team.
With more than 20 years of experience in the wealth management industry, Hank is a committed and tenacious advisor to his high net worth clients. He began his professional career at Merrill Lynch before joining Morgan Stanley as a Wealth Management Financial Advisor, where, in 2004, he was named to Barron’s list of Top 100 Financial Advisors in the United States. His 2004 departure from Morgan Stanley was prompted by the desire to serve all of his clients’ wealth-related needs beyond just asset management.
Hank quickly learned that as an independent advisor, he could build a business that focused on the needs and goals of his clients, rather than the revenue goals of his employer. Equipped with a vision to build a firm that worked every day to provide financial well-being at the most personal and sophisticated levels, Hank started the Gratus Capital story that continues today.
A recipient of numerous awards and accolades throughout his wealth management career, most recently Hank was recognized by Forbes as a Best-In-State Wealth Advisor for Georgia in 2019 and named to AdvisoryHQ’s list of 2019 Top 11 Best Financial Advisors and Planners in Atlanta for the second consecutive year. Forbes also included Hank on its annual Top Wealth Advisors list in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 which ranks the top 100 advisors in the country based on assets under management, revenue generated for the advisors’ firms, and the quality of advisors’ practices.
The Gratus leader has been featured in various publications and other media outlets, including Forbes, Financial Planning magazine, The Wall Street Journal, and CNN. In 2017, 2018, and 2019, and 2020 Hank was a featured speaker at the Forbes/SHOOK Top Advisor Summit, an exclusive invitation-only annual event for America’s preeminent wealth advisors and industry leaders, where he shared his best-practice insights and leadership acumen.
