28 Nov Gratus Capital Visits Aloha to Aging
In November, our team visited Aloha to Aging, an organization with a mission to provide a nurturing and socially stimulating environment for adults 55 and older who need engaging activities outside of their residence. Aloha to Aging offers care-partner support group opportunities, an intensive volunteer program, and healthy aging and wellness educational programs for active seniors.
Gratus’ Experience at Aloha
Aloha to Aging creates hands-on simulations that build awareness and empathy for those faced with the challenges of assisting persons with health-related challenges or dementia. During our visit, we broke into small groups for exercises designed to simulate what it’s like to handle everyday tasks while dealing with these challenges. These exercises included dressing with vision loss, gathering with the family while experiencing hearing loss, and conversing while suffering memory loss. The team left with a new appreciation for caregivers and a better understanding of issues that come with aging.
Support the Cause
At Aloha to Aging there are many ways to help support the organization, including donations, Kroger Community Rewards, or through Amazon Smile. Aloha to Aging also welcomes many ages for their volunteer program, from high school students to retirees.
